My Carolina Panthers are in a mess; they can't even find the endzone. It seems virtually impossible for them to score. They were in first place in their division and unless they get better quarterback play, they will probably not make the playoffs. So woe is me... I guess I'm waiting for Tarheel basketball now.
You have to be a sports fan to really understand this "sports disease" of how high you can be when your team wins and how low you can be when they lose.
The Holy Spirit prompted me on how so many Christians live life only in the natural realm of wins and losses, highs and lows and never truly have a firm stability in the Word. Too many people view the Bible as just a "good book" and never really claim for themselves the promises of the Word. Yes, we know the Scripture verses, but have we made those verses ours? His promises are "yes and amen." His "Word will not return empty." The Word will work everytime for our situations if we confess it and believe it. Have we forgotten that we "are more than conquerers", that the "Greater One" lives in us, that we "have overcome the world"? When the Word is truly in us and we use it accordingly, there are NO LOSSES. Even when times are tough we are not knocked out because our hearts are "firmly fixed on Him."
For every loss that you think you are facing, find a verse in the Bible to combat that situation and make it yours. Believe it and confess it until it takes root in your heart. Then allow Jesus Christ to perform His priestly duties on your behalf.
I am looking forward to a great Fall season, not just because it is Football and Deer Hunting season, but because it is an important season on God's calendar. The Jewish new year, Day Of Attonement and Feast of Tabernacles are all in September. Yes, we too as Christians, can recognize these ordinances in the Spiritual realm. These are times of the year when we as Christians, who have been grafted into the family of God, can expect great Spiritual things to happen. God said that they are ordinances forever.
Who knows we could here the trumpet of God sounding this season as Jesus calls us home to heaven.
Even So come Lord Jesus!
Just wanted to make you aware of the recent interview I did with AWOE Magazine. The transcript is up on their website and will be in the next issue. Let me know what you think!
Til next time... Ray
"RAY PETERS I BOLDLY COME Is a powerful album that has simply moving worship songs that speaks to the listener's heart. My favorite song is RUN TO THE CROSS. With vocals that remind me of Andre Crouch, Ray truly belts out the mercy and love of Jesus when he sings, "I can find sweet forgiveness when I run to the cross…" There is a perfect harmony as the piano plays and the words enter into the atmosphere, a real sweetness. Then somehow Ray takes up the tone in BECAUSE I'M FORGIVEN. I'm talking about taking you to a place where you seriously want to clap and shout as he sings, "It's because you are my Savior! It's because You are my friend and Your love lifts me higher than I've ever been!" Ray Peters I BOLDLY COME is a must have worship album for anyone who loves Jesus! Indie"

After crossing the Red Sea, the Israelites journeyed through the wilderness and came to Marah which means bitterness. They had traveled for three days and could not find water and then they happened to come upon a place of water and it was too bitter to drink. But God showed Moses a tree to cast into the waters. When he did, the waters became sweet. Notice the last part of the verse, "there He made for them a statute and an ordinance." Wow! The tree cast into the bitter waters is our statute and ordinance of the cross (The Tree.) When the bitter waters of sufferings, disappointments, heartaches and losses are hard to swallow, remember that faith in the complete attonement of the cross of Jesus makes all bitter waters sweet.
So be looking for it in April.
